Beginning Ukulele Fun

Learn about getting an ukulele program up and running. Right from the practical suggestions as to what ukuleles are available to buy to some different activities you can use to get your students started. A focus on integrating the ukulele into a regular music program is at the forefront with some practical Orff and Kodaly inspired approaches and ideas.

Andy Funke is an elementary music teacher in Sherwood Park. His education includes a B.Mus. in classical guitar performance, and a B. Ed. and M.Ed in elementary education. He has also obtained Orff and Kodaly certification. He enjoys teaching the ukulele to children and adults. He is currently working on a new approach to teaching ukulele for a general music classroom.
