« Speed dating » in math???? Grades 4-9

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this session, we will explore different curricular outcomes that can be taught/reviewed through speed-dating. Speed dating engages all students, differentiating is integrated, and students can auto-correct themselves as they participate in the task. As a teacher, speed dating gives me immediate feedback on the students learning, their strengths and weaknesses, a great tool for formative assessment.

Doris Duret

I have been teaching math for over 20 years, and a few years ago, I graduated from Simon Fraser University with a masters in Mathematics Education: numeracy. In 2016, I presented at ACPI ( a National French Immersion conference) and those who attended my session enjoyed the fact that they tried out the different tasks, that they were up moving about, and that the tasks could be adapted and used Monday morning.
