Crossing the Big Pond - one teacher's 5-year odyssey in the Middle East

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

"You're too old to do that!" he said. So she promptly dumped him and set off on the grandest adventure of her life! Join Jennifer as she walks through the process of applying and accepting her first international school posting in Cairo, Egypt, then on to Beirut, Lebanon, and finally landing in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She will share the ups and downs of living, travelling, and teaching abroad and how much of what she learned in those five years has impacted her professional life back in Canada. You're never too old to try something new and live a life you never dreamed possible!

Wild Rose Schools, Wild Rose Schools
17 years of Primary teaching experience all over Alberta and the Middle East has taught me the true meaning of "flexibility"! At Eldorado Elementary School in Drayton Valley, I spearhead the Health Action Team and attempt to be an example with an active lifestyle, good eating habits, and mental well-being. Looking forward to another refreshing convention in Edmonton!
