Understanding the Core Story Of Brain Development for Learners

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this session, translation of current scientific research on brain development will occur in order for educators to understand the role they play in this developmental process. The outcomes for the session include: - Participants will understand that brain architecture is established early in life and supports lifelong learning, behaviour, and health. - Participants will demonstrate how “serve and return” interactions shape healthy brain development - Participants will identify how toxic stress in the early years can derail healthy development and impact executive functioning - Participants will work together through a game experience that builds understanding of the powerful role of experiences on early brain development – what promotes it, what derails it, with what consequences for society
