A brief history of time as a teacher and as a volunteer in international collaboration. The session will focus on the problems faced by teachers and students in Canada and in the developing world by comparing and contrasting. The session will hopefully inspire everyone to strive to be a better teacher and more understanding of the family culture from which each child comes to us. The session will also try to help everyone know more about International Development and how teachers and students can help. Teachers will learn how to apply to volunteer with A.T.A. on International Projects and how to make more ethical contributions to International Development.

Martyn Chapman grew up in England and taught for forty years, mostly in Alberta, but also in the U.K. and the Caribbean. He taught Mathematics, Physics and Electronics, has been a school administrator and coached volleyball, soccer, badminton and school reach.
