Now It’s Our Turn: Educating for Environmental Social Justice

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this interactive workshop, participants will learn the role that schools can play in preparing students for active global citizenship through the exploration of environmental social justice. Participants will learn that through both local and global communities we can create just and democratic societies that understand the connections between citizenship, sustainability, shared interests and activities. The workshop will identify and define social justice and its connection to environmental action. Questions such as: how is what we do as a school a school community inextricably linked to the global core? Why is understanding social justice a key to understanding the relationship we have the environment? And how are notions of diversity and inclusion connected to sustainability? will be explored throughout the presentation.
