'Called to form consciences' - Amoris Laetitia and evangelization of conscience in the classroom

In 2016, following the synod on the family, Pope Francis promulgated the Apostolic Exhortation 'The Joy of Love'. Early on in the document the Pope states 'we have been called to form consciences, not to replace them' (par. 37). In a catholic educational context this 'we' encompasses the role of administrators, teachers and staff. In this session we will explore some of the important ramifications of this statement as it permeates our educational context.
